Pepperstone Review (2026): Spreads, Platforms and Who It Suits

Pepperstone review 2026: 0.0-pip Razor spreads, four platforms, seven regulators, $0 to open and $10 minimum funding. Who it suits — and who it does not.

Kısaca

Pepperstone is the lowest-spread, most heavily regulated broker on our list, and the one we rank first for cost-sensitive and high-frequency trading. Razor accounts price from 0.0 pips with commission from around $3.50 per lot per side; the Standard account is spread-only with no commission. It is the only broker we rank that offers all four of MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView, which matters if you run expert advisors or want cTrader's depth-of-market. There is no minimum deposit to open an account and a $10 minimum funding amount — both halves are true, and quoting either alone misleads. It is authorised by seven authorities including the FCA (684312), ASIC (AFSL 414530), BaFin (151148) and DFSA (F004356), with clients outside those regimes onboarded by Pepperstone Markets Limited in The Bahamas. It offers no guaranteed stop-loss. Where it is weaker: it is not the cheapest way in for a beginner testing the water, and its Razor commission structure only pays off at volume.

  • Best for: cost-sensitive traders, scalpers and EA users — Pepperstone prices from 0.0 pips on Razor
  • Platforms: MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView — the widest platform choice of any broker we rank
  • Cost model: Razor = raw spread + ~$3.50/lot/side commission · Standard = spread-only, no commission
  • Entry cost: no minimum deposit to open, $10 minimum funding amount
  • Regulation: FCA 684312 · ASIC AFSL 414530 · BaFin 151148 · DFSA F004356 · CySEC · CMA Kenya 128 — elsewhere, SCB Bahamas SIA-F217
  • No guaranteed stop-loss — a normal stop can still gap through in fast markets

What Pepperstone actually costs

Pepperstone runs two retail pricing models, and picking the wrong one is the most common way traders overpay. The Razor account passes through raw interbank spreads — from 0.0 pips on major pairs — and charges a separate commission of roughly $3.50 per lot per side. The Standard account bundles that cost into a wider spread and charges no commission at all.

The arithmetic decides which is cheaper for you, not the marketing. A round turn on Razor costs about $7 per lot in commission plus whatever the raw spread is at that moment. If your typical spread on Standard is meaningfully wider than raw-plus-commission, Razor wins; if you trade small size infrequently, the Standard account's simplicity often nets out the same. Our raw spread vs standard guide works the comparison through with numbers.

Platforms: the reason experienced traders pick it

Pepperstone is the only broker on our list offering MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader and TradingView together. That combination is unusual and it is the single strongest practical argument for the account.

It matters concretely. MT4 remains where most third-party expert advisors and custom indicators are written. MT5 adds genuine exchange-traded instruments and a better strategy tester. cTrader offers depth-of-market and a cleaner order model that discretionary scalpers tend to prefer. TradingView lets you trade directly from the charting package most analysts already use. If you have an existing toolchain, the odds are Pepperstone supports it — see our MT5 brokers guide and cTrader brokers guide for how the others compare.

  • MetaTrader 4 — the widest EA and custom-indicator ecosystem
  • MetaTrader 5 — better backtesting, more instrument types
  • cTrader — depth-of-market, favoured by discretionary scalpers
  • TradingView — trade straight from the charts you already analyse in

Regulation, and which entity actually holds your account

Pepperstone is one of the most heavily authorised brokers we cover, but the licence that protects you depends entirely on which entity onboards you — and that is determined by where you live, not by which website you land on.

Real licences exist in the UK (FCA 684312), Australia (ASIC AFSL 414530), Germany (BaFin 151148), the UAE (DFSA F004356), Kenya (CMA 128) and the EU via CySEC. Everywhere else, clients are onboarded by Pepperstone Markets Limited, registered in The Bahamas and regulated by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas under licence SIA-F217. That is a genuine licence, but it is an offshore one, and the retail protections differ from an FCA or ASIC account. Check which entity your account agreement names before funding it — our how to verify a broker licence guide shows how to confirm it on the regulator's own register rather than taking a website's word for it.

Where Pepperstone is the wrong choice

A review that only lists strengths is an advert. Three honest caveats.

It is not the cheapest way to start. The $10 minimum funding amount is low, but the Razor commission model only pays for itself at volume — a trader placing two small trades a month will not notice the raw-spread advantage. If entry cost is your binding constraint, our low deposit brokers guide is the more useful page.

There is no guaranteed stop-loss. A standard stop is filled at the next available price, which in a gap or a news spike can be materially worse than the level you set. No broker on our list offers a guaranteed stop, but it is worth stating plainly rather than leaving you to assume otherwise.

Leverage is not what the headline says for most people. Up to 1:500 exists at some entities, but retail clients under FCA, ASIC and CySEC are capped at 1:30. If you are onboarded by a European or Australian entity, the high-leverage figure does not apply to you.

Opening an account with Pepperstone

Pepperstone is registered in The Bahamas (company registration number 177174 B) and is authorised and regulated by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas, licence SIA-F217. 79.6% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider. This figure is entity-specific: Pepperstone publishes 72.9% under FCA and CySEC, 75.2% under BaFin, 79.6% under SCB and 75–95% under CMA, and the figure that applies to you depends on the entity your account is opened with. It offers no guaranteed stop-loss, no minimum deposit to open an account, and a minimum funding amount of $10. This is a paid affiliate link: we may earn a commission if you open an account. It does not change our ranking or what we publish about them. Visit Pepperstone

Sıkça Sorulan Sorular

For cost-sensitive and experienced traders, yes — it has the lowest spreads on our list (from 0.0 pips on Razor), the widest platform choice (MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView) and authorisation from seven regulators including the FCA, ASIC and BaFin. It is a weaker fit for absolute beginners, where entry simplicity matters more than raw spread.

There is no minimum deposit to open a Pepperstone account, and a $10 minimum funding amount to trade. Both halves matter — quoting only the $0 figure overstates how little you need to actually place a trade.

On the Razor account, yes — raw interbank spreads start at 0.0 pips on major pairs, but a commission of roughly $3.50 per lot per side is charged separately, so your true cost is spread plus commission. The Standard account has no commission and a wider spread instead. Neither is universally cheaper; it depends on your size and frequency.

MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader and TradingView. It is the only broker we rank that offers all four, which is the main reason EA users and cTrader traders choose it.

Yes, Pepperstone holds FCA authorisation 684312 in the UK, alongside ASIC AFSL 414530, BaFin 151148, DFSA F004356, CMA Kenya 128 and CySEC in the EU. But which of those protects you depends on the entity that onboards you — clients outside those regimes are handled by Pepperstone Markets Limited under SCB Bahamas licence SIA-F217.

Yes, a swap-free account is available so overnight positions do not accrue interest. Whether a specific account structure meets your requirements is a question for a qualified religious authority, not for us.

Yes — there are no scalping restrictions in its terms, and the Razor account's raw pricing plus ECN/STP-style execution is the reason we rank it first for scalping. See our best broker for scalping guide for the full comparison.
