What Pepperstone actually costs

Pepperstone runs two retail pricing models, and picking the wrong one is the most common way traders overpay. The Razor account passes through raw interbank spreads — from 0.0 pips on major pairs — and charges a separate commission of roughly $3.50 per lot per side. The Standard account bundles that cost into a wider spread and charges no commission at all.

The arithmetic decides which is cheaper for you, not the marketing. A round turn on Razor costs about $7 per lot in commission plus whatever the raw spread is at that moment. If your typical spread on Standard is meaningfully wider than raw-plus-commission, Razor wins; if you trade small size infrequently, the Standard account's simplicity often nets out the same. Platforms: the reason experienced traders pick it

Pepperstone is the only broker on our list offering MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader and TradingView together. That combination is unusual and it is the single strongest practical argument for the account.

It matters concretely. MT4 remains where most third-party expert advisors and custom indicators are written. MT5 adds genuine exchange-traded instruments and a better strategy tester. cTrader offers depth-of-market and a cleaner order model that discretionary scalpers tend to prefer. TradingView lets you trade directly from the charting package most analysts already use. Regulation, and which entity actually holds your account

Pepperstone is one of the most heavily authorised brokers we cover, but the licence that protects you depends entirely on which entity onboards you — and that is determined by where you live, not by which website you land on.

Real licences exist in the UK (FCA 684312), Australia (ASIC AFSL 414530), Germany (BaFin 151148), the UAE (DFSA F004356), Kenya (CMA 128) and the EU via CySEC. Everywhere else, clients are onboarded by Pepperstone Markets Limited, registered in The Bahamas and regulated by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas under licence SIA-F217. That is a genuine licence, but it is an offshore one, and the retail protections differ from an FCA or ASIC account.
