Is Pepperstone safe and legit?

Is Pepperstone safe and legit?

Is Pepperstone safe and legit? Yes: it is licensed by seven regulators, including the FCA and the DFSA in Dubai. Here is what each licence covers for you.

I korte trekk

Yes, Pepperstone is a safe and legitimate broker. It was founded in Melbourne, Australia, and holds retail licences from seven regulators, including the FCA in the UK (FRN 684312) and the DFSA in Dubai's financial centre (F004356). That makes it our first pick on this page. Safe does not mean low risk: most retail traders still lose money on leveraged CFDs. At Best Trading Signal (BestTradingSignal.com) we rank Capital.com second, with a UAE CMA dealing licence and swap-free accounts for UAE residents, and XS third, the broker behind our free signals.

  • Not a scam: seven named, regulated entities, each with a public licence number you can check
  • FCA in the UK: Pepperstone Limited, Firm Reference Number 684312
  • DFSA in Dubai: Pepperstone Financial Services (DIFC) Ltd, reference F004356
  • Read your entity: the company named in your client agreement decides which regulator protects you
  • UAE gaps: no swap-free account for UAE residents and no AED-denominated accounts
  • Still high risk: the DFSA page shows no loss figure; 73.6% of retail accounts lose money under the FCA and 74.1% under CySEC

Is Pepperstone a scam?

No. A scam broker hides who it is. Pepperstone does the opposite: every company in the group is named, registered and listed with a regulator, and each licence number can be checked on that regulator's public register in a few minutes.

The real question for a trader in Dubai or Abu Dhabi is not whether Pepperstone exists, but which Pepperstone company you will sign with and what that company's licence allows. The answer changes your protections, so this page goes through it licence by licence.

If the checks below satisfy you, you can open a Pepperstone account and test it on the demo before you deposit. Note that residents of the United States cannot open a Pepperstone account.

Is Pepperstone regulated by the FCA?

Yes. Pepperstone Limited, registered in England and Wales, is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority with Firm Reference Number 684312. UK clients are onboarded by this company. The FCA is one of seven regulators that license a Pepperstone entity.

An FCA licence does not follow you to Dubai. A UAE resident is normally served by a different entity, so the FCA number is a sign of the group's standards, not a promise of UK protections for you.

Is Pepperstone regulated in the UAE?

Yes, through two companies with very different roles. Pepperstone Financial Services (DIFC) Ltd is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority under reference F004356. Pepperstone Financial Services LLC holds UAE Capital Market Authority licence 20200000358, but that licence covers introduction and financial consultation only. It does not allow the company to deal with retail traders.

We cannot confirm which entity onboards every UAE retail client. Before you fund, read the company name in your client agreement. If it says DIFC and DFSA, that is the regulator you can complain to.

How does Pepperstone protect a trader's money?

Regulated entities must keep client money separate from the company's own funds. That protects you if the broker fails. It does nothing to protect you from a trade going wrong.

Under the FCA, ASIC and CySEC, retail clients cannot use more than 1:30 leverage on major currency pairs. Some other entities offer up to 1:500. We do not state a UAE leverage figure: check the cap on your own account page. Negative-balance protection applies to retail clients in the UK, the EU and Germany, and in most other regions. Confirm it for your entity in the client agreement.

What are the pros and cons of Pepperstone?

For a UAE trader, the strengths are regulation and choice. The weaknesses are mostly about local fit: Islamic accounts and AED accounts.

Which broker suits a UAE trader who needs a swap-free account?

If you need an Islamic account, Pepperstone is not the right first stop. Its swap-free account is limited to residents of an eligible-country list that does not include the UAE or Saudi Arabia.

Capital.com offers swap-free accounts to residents of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman, and it holds a UAE CMA Category One dealing licence (No. 20200000176). XS activates Islamic accounts automatically for Gulf residents, but it holds no UAE licence. Our guide to Islamic trading accounts covers the details.

Can you use Best Trading Signal's signals on a Pepperstone account?

Yes. Each Best Trading Signal alert gives an entry, a take-profit and a stop-loss, so you can place it on any Pepperstone platform. A Pepperstone client receives our alerts through a paid plan on our Telegram bot.

The free route is tied to XS, not Pepperstone: you open an XS account through our link and fund it with $400, money that remains yours to trade. Every closed signal is logged on our performance page. Past results do not guarantee future results, and no signal is certain to win.

How do you check that Pepperstone is safe for you?

Our 5-minute method is in the guide on how to verify a broker's licence. When you are satisfied, open your Pepperstone account here.

Disclosure: we may earn a commission from Pepperstone, Capital.com and XS if you open an account through our links. That does not change what we publish about them. This page is general education, not personal investment advice.

Risk warning (Pepperstone): 73.6% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading spread bets and CFDs with this provider under the FCA, 74.1% under CySEC, 76.1% under BaFin, 80% under the SCB and 88% under the CMA (Kenya). The DFSA (UAE) page shows no percentage. The figure depends on the entity your account is opened with. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.

  • Match the entity: the company in your client agreement should match a licence in the table above.
  • Search the register: look up F004356 on the DFSA register, or 684312 on the FCA register, yourself.
  • Ignore look-alikes: only trust links and emails that lead to Pepperstone's own domain.
  • Check swap-free rules first: as a UAE resident, you will not get a Pepperstone Islamic account.
  • Withdraw a small amount early: it shows how the process works before you add more.

Ofte stilte spørsmål

Yes. Pepperstone is a legitimate Australian-founded broker licensed by seven regulators, including the FCA (FRN 684312) and the DFSA in Dubai (F004356). Safe means your money is held by a regulated company. It does not mean trading is safe: most retail CFD accounts lose money.

Pepperstone is safe in the sense that matters for a broker: it is regulated, it names every entity, and its licence numbers are public. Your own protections depend on the entity in your client agreement. In the UAE, look for Pepperstone Financial Services (DIFC) Ltd and its DFSA reference F004356.

No. Pepperstone's swap-free account is only for residents of an eligible-country list, and the UAE is not on it. If you need an Islamic account in the UAE, Capital.com offers one to UAE residents, and XS activates it automatically for Gulf residents.

You can fund in AED through Pepperstone's UAE local bank account, which Pepperstone describes as an easy way to deposit. That is not the same as an AED-denominated trading account, which we cannot confirm. Check the account currencies offered on the sign-up form before you open.

The minimum deposit is $10. That is enough to open the account and test real execution with small trades. Pepperstone itself describes around $200 as a more practical first balance, which leaves room for a stop-loss on every position without risking a large share of the account.

Handel med forex, CFD-er og krypto innebærer en betydelig risiko for tap og passer ikke for alle investorer — signalene våre er analytikeres vurderinger, ingen garanterte gevinster, og tidligere resultater er ingen garanti for fremtidige resultater.
