From Signal to Position: How PolySouq's Up/Down Windows Let You Act on a Market Read Without Leverage

How a prediction market turns a directional read into a fixed-risk YES/NO position: 5-minute Bitcoin windows, gold and EURUSD Up/Down, the parimutuel payout worked in dollars, and what else PolySouq lists.

Na první pohled

A trading signal gives you a direction and a horizon. A prediction market lets you act on exactly that, without a broker account, leverage, a spread or a stop-loss. On PolySouq — the first Arabic-language prediction platform, with a full English interface — every question is a YES/NO event priced from 0 to 100, where the price is the crowd's probability. Its Up/Down windows on Bitcoin and Ethereum (5-minute, 4-hour, daily, weekly, monthly) and on gold, oil, EURUSD and USDJPY ask one thing: will the price close above where it started? You buy the side you believe, your maximum loss is the amount you staked, and the payout is parimutuel: the winning side splits the losing side's money after a 10% commission taken only from that losing pool. Beyond markets, PolySouq lists Champions League, Premier League and Saudi Pro League fixtures, Tadawul and UAE market events, politics and real estate. Funding is USDC on Polygon with a $5 minimum in and out.

  • Price = probability: a YES at 62 means the crowd puts a 62% chance on the outcome — the same number you already carry in your head when you rate a setup
  • Up/Down windows cover Bitcoin and Ethereum on 5-minute, 4-hour, daily, weekly and monthly frames, plus gold (XAUUSD), oil (USOIL), EURUSD, USDJPY and silver
  • Parimutuel payout: correct answers split the losing pool minus a 10% commission on that pool only; if nobody backed a losing answer, every stake is refunded in full
  • Buy-only, fixed risk: no leverage, no spread, no margin call — the most you can lose on any event is your stake, and you cannot lose more
  • More than prices: seven football leagues, the Saudi and UAE markets, politics, economics and real estate, all as multi-outcome events
  • Account: email, Google or Apple sign-in, verified email, then USDC on the Polygon network — $5 minimum deposit and $5 minimum withdrawal
  • Social layer: invite friends, climb a weekly accuracy leaderboard and share your reads on the Ideas feed

What is a prediction market, and why should a signal trader care?

A prediction market is a venue where a question about the future is traded as a contract. Each contract has two sides, YES and NO, and a price between 0 and 100 that moves as people buy one side or the other. That price is the market's probability estimate: a YES trading at 35 means the crowd currently gives the outcome a 35% chance. When the event resolves, the correct side is worth 100 and the incorrect side is worth 0.

If you follow signals, you already think in these terms. A signal that says 'long gold, target 2,480, invalidation 2,420' is a claim that gold is more likely to reach the target than the stop over the stated horizon — a probability judgement. A prediction market lets you express it as exactly that, with the size you choose, instead of translating it into lots, pips and margin.

PolySouq is a prediction platform built for the Arab world, Arabic-first with a complete English version, and its catalogue is deliberately regional: Gulf football, the Saudi and UAE stock markets and OPEC decisions alongside global crypto, forex and commodity windows. This guide covers the parts that matter to a signal trader, with the payout arithmetic worked in dollars so you can check it yourself.

The Up/Down windows: Bitcoin and Ethereum every five minutes, gold and EURUSD by the session

The closest thing PolySouq offers to a conventional directional trade is the Up/Down window. The question is always the same: will the price at the end of the window be higher than the price at the start? You buy Up or Down at the displayed probability, the window closes, the reference price is read from public sources, and the market resolves.

For Bitcoin and Ethereum the shortest frame is five minutes, which is why these windows appeal to people who already scalp crypto off a signal. There are also 4-hour, daily, weekly and monthly frames for reads that need more room. For forex and commodities the windows run on gold (XAUUSD), oil (USOIL), EURUSD, USDJPY and silver, which are the same instruments most signal services publish on.

There is no entry price to defend and no stop to be hunted: the only thing that matters is where the price sits at the close relative to the open.

How the parimutuel payout works, in dollars

PolySouq does not match you against a counterparty at a fixed price the way an order book does. It uses a parimutuel pool: all the money staked on Up sits in one pot, all the money staked on Down sits in another, and when the window resolves, the people on the correct side share the money from the incorrect side in proportion to what they staked. A 10% commission is taken only from the losing pool before it is distributed. There is no deposit fee, no monthly fee and no spread.

Take a 5-minute Bitcoin window where $600 has been staked on Up and $400 on Down. You put $50 on Up, making the Up pool $650. The window closes higher, so Up is correct. The losing pool is $400; the platform keeps 10% of that, $40, and distributes the remaining $360 to the Up side. Your share is 50 ÷ 650 of $360, which is $27.69. Your stake comes back too, so the wallet receives $77.69 on a $50 position. Had the window closed lower, you would have lost the $50 and nothing more.

Two edge cases are worth knowing because they are unusual. If nobody backed the losing answer — you were the only participant, or everyone happened to be right — there is no losing pool to share, and every stake is refunded in full. Cancelled or voided markets are also refunded in full. In other words, you cannot lose money to an empty market.

Worked example: $50 on Up in a 5-minute Bitcoin window

Worked example: $50 on Up in a 5-minute Bitcoin window
LineAmountHow it is calculated
Up pool after your stake$650$600 already there + your $50
Down pool (the losing side)$400Everything staked on Down
Commission$4010% of the losing pool only
Distributed to the Up side$360$400 − $40
Your share of the distribution$27.69$50 ÷ $650 × $360
Returned to your wallet$77.69$50 stake + $27.69
If Down had won−$50Maximum loss = your stake
If nobody had backed Down$50Full refund — no losing pool to share

Buy-only and unleveraged: what changes versus acting on a CFD signal

The mechanics above produce a different risk profile from a leveraged trade. PolySouq is buy-only: you buy YES or NO (Up or Down) and hold it to resolution. There is no leverage, no margin, no spread, no overnight funding, and no way to be taken out early by a wick. What you give up is flexibility — you commit for the length of the window — and, as with any position, you can lose the full amount you staked.

  • Maximum loss is the stake. A $20 position can lose $20. It cannot lose $200 because the market gapped through a level.
  • No spread, no commission on entry. The only cost is the 10% taken from the losing pool at resolution, and only if there is a losing pool.
  • No stop-loss to place. The window does the timing and the close does the judging, however ugly the path was.
  • Size is in dollars, not lots. No pip value, contract size or margin requirement to compute.
  • Holding is the only option. You cannot reduce or add to a position mid-window, so choose the frame that matches the horizon of your read.

What else you can trade on PolySouq

Up/Down windows are the entry point for a signals audience, but most PolySouq events are multi-outcome: three or more answers to one question, each priced as its own probability — which of eight clubs wins a league, where the next rate decision lands. Football is covered by fixture with 1X2 markets across seven leagues, and the regional strand runs from Tadawul IPOs to Dubai property.

Test your knowledge against friends: invites, duels and the accuracy leaderboard

PolySouq frames the whole product as testing your knowledge, and the social features follow from that. Every account has a personal invite link under Settings. Friends who join through it can be challenged on the same events through the friends and duels page, so two people who follow the same signal channel can put opposite reads on the same 5-minute window and see who was right. The parimutuel rule applies here too: if nobody takes the other side, your money comes back.

The weekly accuracy leaderboard ranks accounts by how often their predictions resolve correctly, not by how much they staked — a fairer scoreboard for someone sizing small while they learn. For sharing the reasoning, the Ideas feed is a community space with posts, replies, mentions, bookmarks and profiles, and every event carries its own comment thread. A verified email is required to post.

Transparency, values and who is behind PolySouq

Every resolved market on PolySouq shows its outcome and the source it was settled from. Settlement is automated by consensus of public sources; anything the automation cannot settle with confidence goes to a human review queue. The leaderboard is public, and the platform's terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, where the operating company is registered.

The platform is also explicit about the culture it serves. Events that would contradict Arab values are not listed, the interface is Arabic-first with Saudi time and Gregorian dates, and the language throughout the product is prediction, knowledge and accuracy rather than chance. Mike Brend, PolySouq's Chief Marketing Officer, put it this way: “Our users are people who already have an opinion about where gold or Bitcoin is going. We give them a clean way to put a number on that opinion, with the risk capped at what they choose to stake, and a public record of whether they were right.”

The US prediction-market boom and the gap in the Arab world

The category PolySouq belongs to has grown quickly elsewhere. Pew Research Center reported in May 2026 that combined monthly global trading volume on Kalshi and Polymarket rose from under $5 billion in September 2025 to about $24 billion in April 2026. CoinDesk reported in April 2026 that Kalshi controls about 89% of the US regulated prediction market. Both platforms are English-only and their catalogues centre on US and European events, which is the gap PolySouq is built to fill: an Arabic-language, regionally focused venue where a Saudi Pro League fixture or a Tadawul IPO is a first-class event rather than an afterthought. If you are looking for the best arab prediction site with a full English interface, that regional catalogue is what to judge it on.

Is PolySouq a betting site?

No, and the difference is structural. A sportsbook or bookmaker sets odds against you, holds the other side of every wager and profits when you lose; gambling in that sense is a game against the operator. On PolySouq the operator never takes a side: prices are set by what other participants stake, the payout comes from the pool of incorrect answers, and the platform's revenue is a disclosed 10% of the losing pool only. Every market resolves to a public source, every account's accuracy is visible, and events are chosen for whether knowledge can inform them. If you are used to betting terminology, the honest translation is that PolySouq is a knowledge-scored prediction market, not a betting product — and it deserves the same discipline as any position that can lose its full stake.

Často kladené otázky

It means the market currently gives the outcome a 62% chance. If YES resolves correct, the winning side splits the losing pool; if not, the stake is lost. Because PolySouq is parimutuel, the number you see is the crowd's probability at that moment, and it moves as people stake on either side.

The window closes five minutes after it opens, the closing price is read from public sources by the automated settlement process, and the market resolves shortly afterwards. Payouts and refunds go straight to the wallet balance. Uncertain cases, which are rare on a price window, are routed to a human review queue.

No. There is no leverage or margin, so the most you can lose on any event is the amount you staked on it. You can, however, lose that full amount, and nothing about a prediction market makes a wrong read cheaper. Size positions accordingly and treat every stake as money you are prepared to lose.

You get your money back. The parimutuel payout shares the losing pool among the correct side; if nobody backed a losing answer because you were alone or everyone was right, there is no losing pool, and every stake is refunded in full. Cancelled or voided markets are refunded in full the same way.

No. PolySouq is buy-only: you buy YES or NO and hold it until the event resolves. That removes stop-hunts and slippage, but it also means you should choose a window whose length matches the horizon of your read, and stake only what you are content to leave in place until the close.

Deposits and withdrawals use USDC on the Polygon network. From Portfolio, choose Add funds, copy your personal Polygon address and send USDC from any wallet or exchange that supports Polygon. The minimum deposit is $5 and the minimum withdrawal is $5. Balances are shown in dollars once funds arrive.

Both. PolySouq is Arabic-first and right-to-left by default, and it offers a complete English interface under the /en path, with the same events, wallet and leaderboard. Times are shown in Saudi time with Gregorian dates. A mobile app also exists alongside the web version.

The Ideas feed is a community space for posts, replies, mentions, bookmarks and profiles, and every event has its own comment thread. Posting requires a verified email. The weekly accuracy leaderboard shows whose predictions resolve correctly most often, and the friends page lets you challenge people you invite on the same events.
